I'm melting.........
Today as I was walking around my small flower garden, my faithful companion was right at my side. Cindy is my 7 1/2 year old golden retriever and if you are out in the yard when she is, she is walking right with you. Lately, because it has been too hot in the house for her I have left her out in my front yard. it's fenced in and she can relax without having to be tied up. In fact my Husband relocated her dog house to the front yard so that she could use it more often. Up until a couple of weeks ago it was in our back yard and we would put her out there, because there are more shade trees than the front yard. The only problem with the back yard it that there is only a three foot fence and no top rails on the fence. so if she couldn't jump the fence, she could easily bend it enough to get over it. While walking around she would sit and wait patiently for me to pull a weed out of the flower bed, or she would watch me carfully to see if the hose was going to get too close while I was watering the plants. Cindy likes to get wet, but only on her terms. She will high tail it as soon as you turn the water in her direction. After a day of playing in the yard with her tennis ball and more than likely digging a few holes in the yard she came in before some storms ran through the area. I walked in the living room and had to laugh, she was laying on the wood floor and she looked like she had just melted into the floor. I had to document how comical it was. I may think the dog isn't very smart, but she knows how to relax. Scoot over Cindy, Momma feels like melting too!
